Audrey Meet Audrey. She’s a spirited 2-year-old who enjoys singing, princess gowns, and playing with her sister. Six months ago, Audrey developed bacterial meningitis, a life-threatening illness infecting the spinal fluid and the fluid surrounding the brain. I am grateful that she survived, but was devastated to learn that she had hearing loss: profound loss (deaf) in one ear, and mild to moderate loss in the other. My thoughts went immediately to the experiences she would never have: whispering with schoolmates; enjoying music as she once had. I knew that she had a difficult road ahead.

After an intense period of research, I found the people at Project TALK. The mission of Project TALK is to provide the highest quality hearing, speech, language, and educational services for children with hearing loss, regardless of income. Project TALK provided us with education, guidance and the best audiological services available.
